Take advantage of Extra Magic Hours at WDW

In last week’s blog post – My Tips for Meeting Ana and Elsa at WDW – I mentioned taking advantage of extra magic hours at the park in order to beat the queues. Extra magic hours are something I’ve never been able to take advantage of personally due to staying on Lake Buena Vista rather than in one of these Disney hotels (I stay opposite Disney Springs), however, if you are entitled to them then I strongly suggest using them.

How they work:

Each day, one of the 4 WDW theme parks will either open one hour earlier or close two hours later. In order to gain early access to the park EACH MEMBER OF YOUR PARTY needs to present their park ticket and resort ID at the turnstiles in order to prove that you are staying in a WDW hotel and qualify to gain early access to the park. The water parks also offer extra magic hours at certain times of the year. Upon arrival at your WDW hotel you will be given a timetable of what parks are offering which extra magic hours on which days – they do not all offer them every day, so check these timetables carefully to avoid disappointment! Also, it’s worth mentioning that not all attractions open early in the parks, so check the opening times of the attractions on the My Disney Experience app to avoid disappointment!

Guests staying at the following hotels qualify for Extra Magic Hours:
